چکیده
Marine biology is a hybrid subject that combines aspects of organismal function, ecological interaction and the study of marine biodiversity.[1] The earliest studies of marine biology can be traced back to the Phoenicians and the Greeks who are known as the initial explorers of the oceans and their composition.[2] However, it was Aristotle (384-322 BC) who was the first to record any observations about marine organisms as he recorded his observations on the distribution and habits of marine life.[3]

A mitogenomic phylogeny and genetic history of Amphioctopus fangsiao (d’Orbigny 1839-1841) from China
Phylogeny and genetic diversity of Amphioctopus fangsiao were assessed by sequence analysis of complete mitochondrial genomes, sequenced from 15 individuals of nine populations. The whole mtDNA genomes size were ranging from 15977 to 15990 bp. Data revealed 1642 polymorphic sites and 1023 parsimony informative sites. The phylogenetic analysis based on neighbor joining tree disclosed two clades...

The goal of this research is to study the effect of benzo-alpha-pyrene (BαP) as a pollutant on the plasma levels of cortisol, thyroxin (T4), and triiodothyronine (T3) hormones, and the T3/T4 ratio in the yellowfin sea bream, Acanthopagrus latus. The BαP (50 mg kg-1) in vegetable oil was peritoneally injected. Blood samples were obtained from the treated and control groups after 3 and 72 hr, res...

The study investigated the stomach contents of Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) from the southern part of Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf from April 2016 through March 2017. The food and feeding behavior of R. kanagurta with a fork length of 17.8 to 22.5 cm was assessed from the analysis of gut contents. The frequency of occurrence and numeric methods were used for stomach content anal...
